Written 27 years after his passing, the book brings together 33 memoirs that revisit memories surrounding his works, previously unknown aspects of his artistic practice, and traces of the life they shared, offering a renewed perspective on RYU In's art and his human side.
RYU In developed a distinctive sculptural language through his sustained exploration of fundamental questions surrounding human existence. Through powerful forms-including cubes, distorted bodies, and exaggerated hands-he conveyed the inner tensions and complexities of human existence, establishing a singular approach to figurative sculpture.
Following LEE Inhae's memories, this collection considers RYU In's works alongside the life that unfolded behind them.
